So was all that money for Ronaldo worth it?   In sales of shirts, probably.   On the pitch?  Some may be wondering.

https://www.si.com/soccer/2018/09/01/ap-soc-juventus-cristiano-ronaldo-goalless-against-parma

ROME — Cristiano Ronaldo is still scoreless after three matches with Juventus.

Juventus, however, is doing just fine.

Mario Mandzukic scored one and set up another with a backheel pass as the Bianconeri won at promoted Parma 2-1 on Saturday to remain perfect.

With Portugal Prime Minister Antonio Costa in attendance at Parma's Stadio Ennio Tardini, the closest Ronaldo came to scoring was with a header off a corner that went just wide midway through the first half.

Ronaldo was also visibly upset when Mandzukic prevented the Portugal captain from connecting on a volley early on by getting there first—prompting an apology from Mandzukic.

''I'm happy with what he's doing and the international break will help him get in better condition—because the league really starts after the break,'' Juventus coach Massimiliano Allegri said.

In other words, Allegri is saying he not in the best condition.  What?

His son is having better luck.

Cristiano Ronaldo’s son scored an amazing first goal for Juventus U-9 side in an official game.
Ronaldo Jnr joined the Juventus academy just as he father signed for the Italian Serie A side from Real Madrid.

While his father has struggled to find the back of the net in his opening three games of the season against Chievo Verona, Lazio and Parma, Ronaldo Jnr is tearing up defences for their U-9 side.

Let Allegri coddle him now. Real is doing just fine without him. They are scary good. His goals will come. I've lost my coverage of Serie A matches. I'd gladly trade Ligue Un for it since I really do like Italian football but at least I won't have to see all the grimacing and insufferable acting from the #7 this season. Go Carlo Ancelotti's Napoli!

In any case, I've gained the Turkish Superlig. They have some banging clubs there that make it into Europe.

I'll root for any team playing against him.

Turkish?   Maybe it's part of Erdogan's "Make Turkey Great Again" campaign to get more interest in Turkish football?

The Turkish Süper Lig.  It's really exciting football at times. It has a lot of stars from the rest of Europe in it. The fans are really into it in the stadiums. Rarely a quiet stadium.

Here are two top teams. I mean, it's not all like this all the time:

The league is ranked tenth in UEFA by coefficients but this doesn't mean that they play the game poorly.

It's:

1. Spain
2. England
3. Italy
4. Germany
5. France
6. Russia
7. Portugal
8. Ukraine
9. Belgium
10. Turkey

then there are 45 other national premier leagues.

UEFA Champions League:

Group D:

Lokomotiv Moskva
(RUS)

Porto
(POR)

Schalke
(GER)

Galatasaray
(TUR)

UEFA Europa League:

Group D:

Anderlecht (Bel)

Fenerbahce (Tur)

Dinamo Zagreb (Cro)

Spartak Trnava (Svk)

Group I:

Besiktas (Tur)

KRC Genk (Bel)

Malmo (Swe)

Sarpsborg (Nor)

Group J:

Sevilla (Spa)

Krasnodar (Rus)

Standard Liege (Bel)

Akhisar Belediyespor (Tur)

I'll be seeing Cristiano in the Champions League since I get that along with the Europa. The thing is, he's probably not getting the service he had with Real. Juve has established stars there already and they probably are less apt to answer the "Feed me! Feed me" calls every time. Still, I expect him to start scoring soon. He was goalless in several of his early games with Madrid last season.

He had better start scoring if Juventus wants to keep selling all that Ronaldo merchandise.

The BBC said Ronaldo got a red card for pull the hair of another player.  Then he started crying.    From the clip I found, it doesn't look to me as if he pulled any hair, but he did tap the other fellow's head pointlessly.  Then as you can see, he did start crying.

Time to listen to "Macho Man."

Ronaldo's sister seemed to think there was a conspiracy of some sort.

https://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/soccer/ronaldos-sister-they-want-to-destroy-my-brother/ar-AAAopan

Cristiano Ronaldo's contentious sending off on his Champions League debut for Juventus was the dominant storyline of the first round of group stage matches, and naturally, plenty have voiced their support of the Portuguese star.

Chief among those is Ronaldo's sister Katia Aveiro, who expressed her displeasure with an Instagram post on Wednesday evening. "A football disgrace ... justice will be done ... they want to destroy my brother, but God never sleeps ... disgraceful," Aveiro said, as translated by ESPN.

Hmmm.  This could slow down Ronaldo's number of goals per game.

https://www.sportskeeda.com/football/juventus-boss-allegri-decides-cristiano-ronaldo-will-no-longer-take-all-free-kicks

Juventus boss Allegri has now spoken about the free-kick situation, stating that his star recruit Ronaldo will no longer take every penalty for the team.

Speaking to Calciomercato, the manager said, "Free kicks? Ronaldo is a smart guy, he knows Pjanic and Dybala are very good with free kicks close to the area. When there are free kicks from far away he can kick them but we've decided that Dybala and Pjanic will take set pieces close to the area."

While Dybala and Pjanic have been consistent in their free-kick history, scoring a combined 16 free-kicks in the last three Serie A campaigns, Ronaldo's record is not as exceptional. The Portuguese has only scored two free kicks in his last three seasons at Real Madrid.

Allegri won't be bossed by a crying or non- crying Cristiano. Giving him all kicks would upset the apple-cart.

Engaged?  So some of the media are reporting.

Soccer star Cristiano Ronaldo is reportedly engaged to marry his girlfriend Georgina Rodriguez.

The Portuguese sportsman, who currently plays for Italian team Juventus, reportedly popped the question to Rodriguez, who accepted the proposal and is already on the hunt for a wedding dress.

"Cristiano has already asked Gio to marry him and the wedding will take place," a source told Portuguese tabloid Correio da Manha. "But few people know the details.

"All that is known at the moment is that Gio has already tried on some wedding dresses."

The couple were in London this week (beg12Nov18) and were reportedly seen wearing matching Cartier rings as they enjoyed dinner with Ronaldo's eldest son Cristiano Jr. at the British capital's branch of international restaurant Zela, of which the 33-year-old is partner alongside tennis star Rafael Nadal and singer Enrique Iglesias.

Rodriguez did little to dispel the rumours by showing off a diamond band on her ring finger on her Instagram Stories.

The soccer star met Rodriguez in June 2016 at a Gucci store in Madrid, Spain, where the 23-year-old worked. Earlier this week they celebrated the first birthday of their daughter, Alana Martina, their first child together.

Ronaldo is also father to eight-year-old Cristiano Jr., whose mother has not been publicly revealed, and twins Eva and Mateo, who were born via surrogate in June 2017.

I wonder if he's trying to prove he's a "happy man"?   That he doesn't go around assaulting women sexually?   He claimed to be a "happy man", so maybe getting married will prove it?

https://deadspin.com/cristiano-ronaldo-faces-mostly-dodges-questions-about-1829920376

In the last question of the 10-minute presser—scheduled ahead of Juventus’s Champions League match against Manchester United tomorrow—Ronaldo was asked specifically what he thought of the **** allegation brought by Kathryn Mayorga, an American woman who said Ronaldo **** her in a hotel room in Las Vegas in 2009, then bought her silence using a non-disclosure agreement (that her lawyer is now challenging). Ronaldo smirked, laughed, and said:

“Again, you didn’t listen what I say. I am a happy man. We did the statement two weeks ago, if I’m not wrong. So I am glad, of course, I’m not going to lie on this situation, I’m very happy. My lawyers, they are confident and of course I am, too. The most important, is I enjoy the football, I enjoy my life. The rest, I have people who take care of my life. Of course, the truth is always coming in the first position. So, I’m good.”

I'm thinking that he has to have this cleared up soon since it could affect his travel to the US? I mean wouldn't he be detained for questioning, etc.? Plus, aren't a couple of his children born there?
